Wine lovers must be no strangers to Georgia, a country located in the Caucasus Mountains that is not only the birthplace of wine, but also a living scroll of wine history. According to the findings of archaeologists, wine was already being made in Georgia as early as around 8000 BC, making it one of the first regions in the world to make wine. Wine plays an important role in Georgian culture and traditions, and is considered to be an integral part of life and a reflection of the country’s rich and colorful history and culture.

Georgian wines range from dry reds and whites to semi-sweet and sweet, and at present Georgia has identified at least 525 indigenous grape varieties, which have adapted to the country’s varied climate and soil conditions to produce distinctive wine flavors. In addition, Georgian wines are characterized by unique winemaking methods, such as the traditional fermentation and aging of wines in large clay Qvevri tanks. This method of vinification not only preserves the original flavor and character of the wine, but also gives it a rich taste and complex aroma.

Nowadays, Georgian wines have become a dark horse in the international wine market. Its unique charm and rich history and culture have made it highly respected globally, and its distinctive flavor and winemaking process have attracted more and more wine merchants and wine-tasting enthusiasts. At this year’s Wine to Asia, we are particularly honored to be able to showcase the unique charm of Georgian wines to a large number of professional visitors from China and Asia, and to contribute to its development in the Chinese market.
